Dr.Machi Cleanthous
Dr. Machi Cleanthous, MD, is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She is one of the co-founders of ‘Resilient Lives’, a centre for the social and emotional health of children, adolescents and their families based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Dr. Cleanthous completed her residency in C & A psychiatry at the University Hospital of Örebro (USÖ), Sweden. She completed her training in integrative psychotherapy at Södersjukhuset Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Cleanthous was the senior consultant in charge of the Neuropsychiatric Department of the child psychiatric clinic of USÖ, as well as of the neuropsychiatric team of Örebro’s Rehabilitation Centre in Sweden. Between 2014 and 2017 she served as an Advisor and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Expert for the Drug Therapeutic Committee, Health and Medical Care Administration of the Örebro County Council, Örebro, Sweden. She relocated to Cyprus in July 2017 and has worked for five months at the inpatient department of the Child Psychiatric Clinic in Nicosia, Cyprus (Makarios Hospital). Dr. Cleanthous has a special interest for neurodevelopmental disorders but provides an array of comprehensive services and procedures within the field of general child and adolescent psychiatry. Possesses a broad experience in neuropsychiatric evaluations, in assessments and evaluations of emotional and behavioural difficulties and in psychopharmacological treatment. Certified in ADOS2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and DC:0-3R (Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood).
